This place was packed even at 3pm. We found a seat and looked briefly at the menu before ordering. The place hands a ton of sauces with the tacos ordered. The green sauce tasted really good on the dishes. I had the shrimp quesadillas. I really liked how much cheese and shrimp they put in there. The al pastor taco had really tasty pastor and I really liked the tortilla it came in. The tortillas seemed like they were freshly made. We also ended up ordering a chicken nacho dish. I didn't really like the quality of the shredded chicken. The nacho chips tasted so good with the cheese. I also liked how there was avocado on the top of the dish. I would have liked it if the nachos came with more options on top to pile on. The horchata I ordered with the meal was pretty average. Overall, this place was definitely a pretty basic Mexican joint.

So many sauces to choose from! I love variety so that was a big plus for me. Personally I don't see why you'd want to order the taco when the quesadillas are significantly better in my opinion. Service was very fast and ambience is no frills. Overall very solid place for some great quesadillas, especially al pastor!

Always a favorite for authentic tacos! The guac is fresh, the choriqueso is delicious. The tacos are delicious, come out quick and hot, service is speedy and efficient especially for how busy this hole in the wall gets during prime hours. Never wait long, and always met with a smile by the wonderful ladies. Simple and authentic with great staff.

Small "hole in the wall" with plenty of seats if you prefer to eat in. Pro tip: bring cash to avoid the credit card fee. Excellent tacos, the al pastor are my favorite.

my husband and I still love this place, we would call it little hole in the wall place. we consistently come here because the food is always good, the weight staff is always attentive and does their best to help you out. And it's just a nice little place to be in.. Nothing fancy, but i'm paying for the tacos right?! They are excellent! Tasty and full of whatever you order. I always get a chicken taco and a shrimp taco. my husband and I share a guacamole with chips and it's more than plenty! It is always booked which tells you a lot! Great place for anything! Even for a first date!

It's an authentic Mexican restaurant that serves great food. Their menu is simple but you will not have problem finding something you like. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, the place was almost full and there were constantly people to pick up orders to go. A Michelada is good on a hot summer day. I had a steak and a tongue taco this time. Everyone of our group enjoyed the food. Something to note: Tacos are served with corn tortillas :)

Taqueria San Julian is likely the best option for fresh and flavorful Mexican food on a budget in Fort Myers. We visited for lunch and the place was packed with Spanish-speaking locals, which was a good indication that we were in for a decent meal. It's not a fancy place, nor is there a huge menu, but they excel at what do serve which is primarily tacos and quesadillas, along with a few sides and drinks. Beers are reasonably priced at $4. We went with chicken tacos and quesadillas, and some queso and chips. The queso was on the mild side without much of a kick, but I liked that it didn't have an overly cheesy flavor. Both the tacos and quesadillas were very high quality for a cost friendly joint, with all the ingredients being fresh and flavorful. For a no frills kind of place, I'd rate Taqueria San Julian a 4.5/5, but happy to round up since the service was quick and friendly, and prices very reasonable.

If you want to keep it simple with a tasty taco, quesadillas, nachos, etc., this is the place for you. We saw the ratings and had to give it a try. It was quick placing our order, getting our drinks, then our appetizer followed by our main meal choices. Between the two of us, we ordered the chips with pico de gallo to start. The chips were very crispy (tasted homemade) and the pico de gallo was flavorful and hot! It wasnt't too hot for me, but my tongue was burning (in a good way). Next, we ordered: pork quesadilla (excellent-the meat was tender and savory), pork taco (very good, but we preferred the quesadilla's meat), shrimp quesadilla (tender and tasty shrimp) and the shrimp soft taco (similar taste profile as the quesadilla). For the perfect beverage, we ordered a Modelo. It is easy to imagine yourself in a local taqueria in Mexico. It is quite small (about 14 tables inside and two outside). They have a small kitchen where you can see them preparing and cooking. If we want a larger menu with more offerings and a more upscale atmosphere, we will go elsewhere. But for a simple, delicious and fairly quick Mexican dinner, Taqueria San Julian Tacos Rancheros is the ticket!
